  • Biography:

     Jamie Reynolds is a Canadian pianist, keyboardist and composer who has lived in New York City since 2005. He graduated with honours from the University of Toronto in 2004, where he studied with David Braid, Mike Murley, Phil Nimmons, and many others. Jamie moved to New York in 2005, when he was awarded a Canada Council grant to study privately with Fred Hersch, and he received a second grant in 2007 for private study with Craig Taborn. Jamie has played with some of the top musicians in New York, including Billy Hart, Cameron Brown, Rodney Green, Rob Scheps, Greg Gisbert, Jamie Baum, Joel Frahm, Branford Marsalis, Ike Sturm, and worked with producer Jason Olaine. He has played at nearly all of New York's top jazz clubs and has toured extensively in Canada, the U.S., and Europe, including a performance at the Newport Jazz Festival. Jamie made his debut album, an acoustic piano trio recording of original music, in the spring of 2011, and it will be released on May 14 2012 at Smalls in NYC. He is also collaborating with producer Emilio Reyes Leblanc on an electric project combining original music, improvisation, and experimental studio effects.
