  • Biography:

    28 year old Jazz Vibraphonist and composer Tyler Blanton is a native of Ojai, California. He has gained recognition in New York and abroad as a fresh voice both as a composer and improviser. Since moving to New York City in 2007, he has performed and/or recorded with a host of musical luminaries; Saxophonists Joel Frahm, Seamus Blake, Noah Preminger and Adam Kolker. Bassists Dan Loomis, Matt Clohesy, Aidan Carroll, Sam Minaie and Alexis Cuadrado, and drummers Richie Barshay, Jared Schonig, Mark Ferber, Ference Nemeth, Nate Wood, and Tommy Crane, among numerous others. His music has been described as "sophisticated, swinging, and modern in the right ways" by Jazz journalist Josef Woodard. The Tyler Blanton quartet's debut album "Botanic" is scheduled for release in summer 2010 and will feature saxophonist Joel Frahm
